Our vision

We aim for excellence at Hillcrest Primary School. We believe that every child can learn and achieve, thrive and prosper.

Our values

The school values are Respect & Responsibility, Care & Compassion and Honesty & Trustworthiness. We take pride in providing a supportive and positive environment in which children show genuine care and empathy towards others, respect for one another and the world around them, responsibility for themselves and develop a strong desire to learn and achieve.

Our facilities

STEM Centre

Our STEM Centre was established in 2019 and provides classes with space to design, build, collaborate, and solve problems through innovation. It is well equipped with digital technology resources that include 3D printers, drones, Lego robotics, a laser cutter, and Spheros.

Oval

Our oval is a community hub with a playground, swings, running track and exercise stations, shade area, soccer goals, football goals, cricket pitch and two batting nets.

Gymnasium

We are currently in the process of building a new school gymnasium which will have a basketball and netball court along with 3 badminton/volleyball courts, kitchen, toilets and a stage. The gym will have heating and cooling so it can be safely used across all seasons.

Playground and gardens

Hillcrest Primary School has expansive outdoor spaces which we value. We have 2 playgrounds (one on the oval and another for younger students situated in the yard area) and a set of 4 swings that provide a fun outdoor learning environment. To the western side of the school, we have a wonderful Indigenous garden filled with plants that are native to our area, winding paths to explore and a meeting place where we can learn about the First Nations peoples whose land we play, live and learn on – the Kaurna people.

We have a well-stocked kitchen garden which is tended to by students, teachers, and our parent/carer community and a fully fenced yard area with two outdoor basketball and netball courts, a number of handball/four square courts and a small artificially turfed soccer pitch for our younger students.

Jo - “I enjoyed my time at Hillcrest Primary School. My teachers were really helpful and were always there to answer my questions. I loved that my little brother was at the same school as me too." Felicity - "As a parent, I have received amazing support relating to my child's learning. The school listened to my questions and tailored individual learning programs to support my child's success.".
